Fidelity Online Protection

Fidelity Online Protection

In today’s world of online banking, a dramatic rise in security threats is prompting financial institutions to devote significant resources towards identifying, analyzing and enhancing security processes. Constantly evolving forms of fraud attempts challenge bankers to remain alert, bolster their defenses, and keep costs down – all while meeting the growing needs of their customers.

Fidelity Bank is proud to deliver a high level of security for our Online Banking customers. We've added an additional layer of security to our login process called Fidelity Online Protection. This will further assist in keeping your information secure, protecting you from fraud and identity theft.

It works like this... Fidelity Online Protection verifies your identity in two ways. First, every time you login to your account, the bank identifies you. Second, the system lets you identify the bank using a private image and pass phrase.

Once you enter your access ID and click the "submit" button, you will see your secret image and phrase. If the image and phrase do not appear, you could be at a fraudulent website. This extra validation targets a deceptive tactic known as “spoofing” and it will help ensure that you are not accessing a fake version of our website.

Be assured that Online Banking is more secure than traditional, paper based banking. With Fidelity’s Online Banking system, you can detect fraud earlier by reviewing your account activity regularly instead of having to wait for a monthly statement in the mail.

Fidelity Bank is committed to respecting the individual privacy of consumers. We value the trust you have placed in us to maintain the security and confidentiality of your financial information.

1. Do I have to use this new security feature?
Yes. While Fidelity Bank is and always has been committed to protecting its customers personal information, this initiative is also in response to recent federal regulations requiring financial institutions to provide higher levels of security for online banking.

2. Why do I need this new security feature?
We are providing Fidelity Online Protection - an enhanced security feature- to further protect you while you access your account online. On the internet, identity thieves may attempt to steal your identity by building websites that impersonate websites you trust. We are committed to proactively protecting our customers against such attacks. This new security feature helps us do this.

3. Where do I enter my password?
The log-in process will improve to protect the privacy and security of your personal information. We still ask you for your password, but not until after we have confirmed your identity and let you know you are at the correct website.

4. How will you confirm my identity?
We will confirm your identity using two authentication factors:
· “Something you know” (your log-in ID and password)
· “Something you have” (your computer)
If we cannot confirm your identity or we do not recognize your computer, we will ask you a challenge question (the answer to which only you know). Challenge questions are selected and answered by you when you enroll in Fidelity Online Protection. If you answer the challenge question correctly, your identity will be confirmed and you can log in. You can also inform us to recognize your computer for future login.

5. How will I know that I am not at a fraudulent site?
Previously you accessed Fidelity Online Banking using your login access ID and password. Now, you will also use a unique image and phrase. Your image and phrase help you to verify that you are on our website, not a fraudulent look-alike site. Here is how the new process works:
· Enter your log-in ID and cluck the Submit button.
· If we recognize the computer you are using, your image and phrase will be shown to you on the next screen.
· Once you confirm your image and phrase, you will know you can safely enter your password. If you do not recognize your image and phrase, do not enter your password.

6. How easy is Fidelity Online Protection to use?
Fidelity Online Protection is very easy to use. You do not need to memorize anything new- just use Fidelity’s Online Banking as usual and look for your image and phrase at login.

7. Why has the login process changed?
Login has changed to further protect the privacy and security of your personal information and growing Internet threats. The new process also complies with stricter federal regulations for online banking.

8. Can I access my account from multiple computers?
Yes, you can still access your account from any number of computers. If you log in from a new computer or a public terminal, you will just need to go through one extra stop of answering a challenge question. This helps protect you by keeping unauthorized people from accessing your personal information. There is no limit on how many different computers you can use to log into your account.

9. Why am I being asked a question when I try to log in?
We ask you a challenge question when we detect that you are trying to log in from a new computer. This is to prevent unauthorized access to your account. Since only you know the answer to the question, we will know it is really you. Generally, you will be asked to answer a challenge question only when you log in for the first time from a new computer. After you answer the question, you will be asked whether we should remember this computer for future log-ins. (If you are using a public terminal, you will want to answer no.)

10. How do I register a computer for future log-ins?
If you have not created your image and phrase, you will be prompted to do so the first time you enter your log in ID and click the "submit" button (before entering your password). While enrolling in Fidelity Online Protection, you will have the opportunity to register your computer after answering your established challenge questions.

11. What keeps somebody from stealing my image and phrase?
We show you your image and phrase only if you log in from your registered computer or after you have answered a challenge question. So, it is virtually impossible for unauthorized persons to get access to your image and phrase. (As with your login access ID and password, you should closely guard your selected image and phrase as well as the answers to your challenging questions.)

12. When will I establish my image and phrase?
If you have not yet established your image and phrase, you will be prompted to do so the first time you enter your user login ID and click the submit button (before entering your password). In addition to establishing your image and phrase, you will also be asked to select and answer challenge questions and register your computer for future log-ins.

13. Can I upload my own image?
No. For security reasons, you must choose from among the more than 50,000 image we provide to you during enrollment.

14. Can I change my image and phrase at any time?
