Introducing the Fidelity Bank Mortgage app
Fidelity has been the number one mortgage lender in Lackawanna County for the past 8 years, and this new technology is making it easier than ever for home buyers and builders to apply safely and conveniently online. Helping people realize their dreams of home ownership or home improvement is a highlight of Maureen Polster’s career as the Vice President & Retail Lending Manager at Fidelity. We turned to her for insight into how the app works, and the difference it will make for borrowers in northeastern Pennsylvania, and throughout the country.

Who is a good candidate to use the Fidelity Bank Mortgage app?
If you can use an app on your cell phone, you can use our mortgage app. It is simple and intuitive. You’ll need to create a user code and password and be comfortable receiving notifications via email or text — whichever you prefer —throughout the process.
What kind of technology do we need to use the app?
All you need is a smartphone, computer, or tablet connected to the internet. The Fidelity Bank Mortgage App is user friendly, and mobile friendly, so it works on any mobile device and it adapts to the size of your screen.
What information do we need to get started?

How long does it take to complete an application using the app?
It only takes about 7 to 8 minutes to complete an application. People who have been through this process before will zip right through! First-time home buyers might want to talk to a loan officer first because they may have questions. So we encourage them to reach out to us if they have any questions before they start using the app.
Let’s talk about tech support. What should we do if we get stuck and need help?
If you have questions at any point, just call the phone number on the bottom of each page. We can set up an appointment to meet with you, or we can help you over the phone. It’s completely up to you how much or how little involvement you will need from a Banker.
If we don’t have time to finish the application in one sitting, can we save our work and go back to it later?
Absolutely. You’ll see a “Save and Continue” button at the bottom of each page, and as you go to the next screen, it will save the screen prior to that.
Does the app allow us to go through the application process in its entirety? Or, does it take us to a certain point to prepare us for a meeting with our mortgage consultant?
The app is really a time saver. We can mail disclosures to you. You can sign them and send them back to us. You can upload all your documentation. You can even take a picture of your driver’s license with your cell phone and submit it through this application. When we need a copy of your homeowner’s insurance for closing, you can upload that too . You’ll receive notifications throughout the process, and your mortgage consultant will be notified whenever you upload a document. Closings can take place at a branch, or at your attorney’s office.
Speaking of approval, how long does it usually take to reach a decision?
While there are sometimes exceptions, in most cases we guaranty a loan decision within 3 business days of receiving a complete application.
