Banking at home: there’s an app for that!

Embracing the latest technology can be helpful on so many levels. From gaining increased flexibility in the workplace, to making everyday tasks easier and more efficient, there are countless ways to improve quality of life with digital services. This includes online banking. Here are a few ways to conduct personal and business banking transactions online, without ever leaving home. Using smartphones, tablets, or laptops, the Bank is just a click away.

Where to start

Many banks, including Fidelity, provide online banking services to their customers free of charge. Enrolling in online banking is the first step in taking advantage of the Bank’s digital services, and it’s easy to do. Complete the online form and be sure to have account information handy for all checking, savings, and business accounts. Once online accounts are established, get ready to go mobile. Download Fidelity’s app for apple or android devices.

Unlock a world of banking options

With online access, doors open to a whole world of secure financial transactions. (Don’t worry, those doors are only open to authorized users. There are substantial security measures in place to protect personal information). Online banking gives users the ability to:

  • Securely access their accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere.

To safeguard accounts, customers view their accounts by nicknames, not by account numbers. This ensures that detailed personal information is never transmitted through Fidelity’s system. In addition, users must provide their username and password every time they log in to their accounts, and there are several layers of security, including pre-established questions, to make sure customers are banking safely when they’re online.

Transfer funds from one Fidelity account to another. It’s quick and easy to move money from one Fidelity account to another. Simply log in, select the account where funds will be transferred from, click “transfer,” choose the account, preview the transaction and select “complete.” In just a few clicks, funds are transferred.

  • Pay bills.

Web Bill Pay through Fidelity Bank is a great tool for people to streamline the way they handle finances. The service is free when customers enroll in online banking and use it to pay two bills per month online. Web bill pay allows customers to make one-time or recurring payments on pre-scheduled dates, any time. It’s a great way to reduce the stress of tracking when payments are due because everything is automated. Be sure to have monthly statements handy when enrolling so it’s easy to input all the information.

Digital wallets are electronic payment systems that allow customers to make purchases using their smartphones, eliminating the need to pay with cash or debit or credit cards. There are multiple advantages to using a digital wallet:

  • Speed. Digital wallet transactions are processed faster than transactions processed through cards.
  • Security. Digital wallets are more secure than cards because user information and passwords are encrypted.
  • Less contact. In times of social distancing, digital wallets reduce, and in some cases eliminate, the need for any contact at the checkout. An added bonus!

Fidelity Bank customers enrolled in online banking may use Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay. It’s important to set up the digital wallet properly. • Establish alerts via text and/or email.

To stay apprised of any changes to their accounts, customers can choose the types of alerts they would like to receive, and how they would like to receive them (text and/or email). Some options include:

  • Security alerts notifying customers if someone attempts to access their account or change their account information;
  • Low balance alerts to help customers avoid overdrafts; and
  • Transaction alerts signaling when funds are deposited or withdrawn from an account.

To customize alerts, log into online banking, and click “manage alerts.” All the options will appear, and they can be modified any time.

This feature eliminates the need to go into the bank, or its drive-through window, to deposit checks. Using the Fidelity app, customers can simply take a photo of their check (be sure the check is signed) and funds are deposited into the desired account. It’s that simple.

These are some of the most popular features of online banking. See more digital banking services.
